Changes to Recycling Services at Town Hall Recycling Hub

We would like to advise that the Town Hall Recycling Hub will be temporarily closed for refurbishment for 4 weeks commencing Wednesday 24th June 2026. As part of this update, the following recycling services will be permanently discontinued.    Coffee Pod Recycling  Coffee pod recycling will be discontinued.  Due to a significant increase in volume (approximately 40kg per week) providing this service at Town Hall is no longer manageable for our waste team.  Alternative options:  * Drop off coffee pods at the Launceston Recycling Centre (Mowbray) * Return pods via Nespresso's free recycling program using: * Pre-paid Australia Post satchels * Nespresso-branded recycling bags    Bread Tag Recycling  Bread tag recycling wil also be discontinued.  This is due to the closure of the Aussie Breadtags for Wheelchairs program, following changes in the recycling processes and the transition towards cardboard bread tags.  Alternative Options:  * Plastic bread tags need to be placed in the General Waste Bin. * Paper/cardboard bread tags can be placed int he FOGO Bin or in the General Waste Bin.
