Your bin should be on the kerbside prior to 6am on the day of collection. City of Launceston has three kerbside bins: * General Waste (Pink bin or red lid) is collected weekly * Recycling (yellow lid) is collected fortnightly * FOGO (green lid) is collected fortnightly on the opposite week to recycling. Fees: * 140L $240.00 * 240L $400.00 * FOGO $65.00 one off charge Did you know that all wheelie bins supplied by council are made with recycled plastic.
City of Launceston offer a driver assistance to eligible residents with disabilities or injuries. If your residence is 20 metres or less from the road and you don't have someone living with you who is capable of putting your wheelie bin out, you may be eligible for this service. Pensioners and pensioner householders who hold a Commonwealth Pensioner Card may be eligible to receive a Council appointed concession card, known as a Smart Card. Eligible pensioners will receive an annual allowance to spend on waste disposal activities at Waste Centres. More information is available on the SmartCard page.
