Why
Styrofoam is not accepted in kerbside recycling systems because it is light, bulky and can break into small pieces that contaminate other recyclables. Styrofoam is different to other types of polystyrene used in packaging which can be recycled.
Did You Know
Styrofoam can take hundreds of years to break down in the environment and can easily end up as pollution because it is so lightweight and blows away easily.
